At RPS, the wellbeing of our employees is paramount. Sir Richard Branson once said: “Clients do not come first. Employees come first. If you take care of your employees, they will take care of the clients.” We share the same sentiments.
Last year, we introduced the ‘Cycle to Work’ scheme to our employees. The scheme was originally launched by the Government with the aim to improve the nation’s fitness and carbon footprint. RPS already provides a scheme set up through provider Enjoy Benefits, allowing our employees to receive rewards, discounts, an EAP (Employee Assistance Programme) and now, the cycle to work scheme.
Since the launch, four members of our team have taken to two wheels and signed up to the scheme. They are currently reaping the benefits of cycling to work, which include; improving their fitness levels and mental wellbeing, reducing their outgoings (less reliance on buying fuel for commuting) and saving up to 42 per cent on the cost of their new bike.
Using the scheme, RPS covers the upfront costs of purchasing a bicycle and the employee then pays the company back over a 12-month period to help spread the cost. They can select the bike they want from a registered local and national retailer and once chosen and set up, they can start taking advantage of the benefits.
The scheme helps RPS provide a way for employees to become healthier and fitter, reduce their carbon footprint and help us fulfil the company’s corporate social responsibility.
It’s great to see so many employees take part in the scheme and we always enjoy seeing new ways to help the environment, both in our services and now also in our employees daily routines.
