RPS grows pallet returns to the USA

At RPS, we pride ourselves on establishing and building long-term relationships with our clients in order to help them as much as we possibly can.

We have worked with global power leader Cummins since 2012, collecting pallets and scrap wooden packaging from their Darlington Engine Plant site for either reuse or responsible recycling.

Over the last five years we have been able to help the manufacturer:

  • Reduce its Rocky Mount Engine Plant (RMEP) packaging spend by 15%
  • Reduce its disposal charges by diverting 375te of wood waste from recycle to reuse.
Following our successful processes and team’s hard work, Cummins asked us to extend our services to another one of its sites in America, and of course we said yes!

Cummins Turbo Technologies, which is based in South Carolina, is at the cutting edge of engineering design, producing some of the most durable and innovative turbochargers in the world.

RPS’ services were required to start collecting and returning pallets to the Turbo Technologies site and our team was more than happy to help. We organised the collections, refurbishment and delivery of the pallets back to America, using our expertise and associates in container deliveries.

Below is a time lapse video of one of our containers being loaded with pallets, ready for their journey to the USA.

We have just seen the return of our first load to South Carolina and we’re thrilled to say that the New Year has certainly been a great start for us.

We are looking forward to continuing our work with Cummins and we are very excited to see where this flourishing relationship will take us next.
