Can you remember what you did to celebrate blowing out 16 candles?
As an important milestone for us as a company, we decided to mark our birthday with a day at the races.
And what fun it was. Thirsk Racecourse, as always, was a fabulous host. Despite the rain and thunderstorms, there were wins, losses and plenty of celebrations.
It’s always great when we get together and the whole team at RPS is proud of our achievements.
We recently looked back at the successes we have shared over our first half of 2018.
Although there is so much more we aim for this year, we have decided to share 16 reasons why we are proud of where our journey has taken us and developed over the years.
Here we go!
- Our circular economy ethos.
- How we help companies to become more sustainable.
- Working with major international and national businesses including retailers, manufacturers and construction companies.
- Continuing our mission to collect used pallets from sites for either reuse, recycling or energy recovery.
- Finding sustainable solutions for used pallets.
- Continually improving our logistics to reduce the mileage of our vehicles and help reduce our carbon footprint.
- Improving site processes and efficiencies by installing modern equipment and infrastructure.
- Continuing to save our clients’ money on packaging spend, taking into consideration ever-increasing timber prices.
- Being shortlisted for two National Recycling Awards in June 2018.
- Planning the move to our new site.
- Demonstrating our capabilities at exhibitions across the country – including RWM 2018…
- …And letting people take part in our pallet fork lift truck game!
- Helping raise money for charities such as the Stokesley Charity Bike Ride.
- Working with companies such as Hadfield Wood Recyclers to ensure the most responsible and environmental recycling outlets for damaged pallets that cannot be reused.
- Continuing to welcome more members to our team – including Josh as team administrator.
- And finally, our amazing MD Gary Hudson, tackling Kilimanjaro in September to raise money for Oscar’s Paediatric Brain Tumour Charity.
