Five years ago, we were looking back fondly over 10 years in business, having grown from an ambition held by three men, to become one of the leading packaging recovery companies in Europe. We can hardly believe that RPS is 15 this month, which incidentally is symbolised by crystal. It’s been an incredible 15 years in business, with the last five seeing an exceptional transformation of RPS.
In 2014, we won awards such as the NEPIC Environmental Award, and gold in the national Let’s Recycle Zero Waste Awards. More recently we were shortlisted at the National Recycling Awards, for our work to reduce packaging waste by implementing innovative pallet re-use solutions.
We also moved to a new site on Teesside in September 2012, a pivotal point in our history and as we’ve matured, we’ve increased our year-on-year turnover to more than £4 million.
At RPS, we continually develop our services to meet our customers’ changing needs and take the hassle out of using pallets. Scrap pallets, damaged pallets, odd sized pallets, the good, the bad and the ugly pallets – we consider them all and will help to provide the best solutions.
We’ve already started our birthday celebrations, having taken the whole team to Thirsk Races, where there was much fun amid the winning, and losing - but that’s the joy of the races! We’re also going to be planting some trees to mark our special milestone.
We’d like to take this opportunity to thank all the individuals and businesses that have helped us achieve all that we have over the last 15 years. Without the fantastic support of colleagues, customers and suppliers, we wouldn’t be where we are today.
