We’re thrilled to share this exciting news with you! RPS has been shortlisted for two National Recycling Awards.

The MRW National Recycling Awards 2018 (NRAs) recognises and celebrates best practice and innovation in recycling and waste management.

We entered the Campaign of the Year and Waste Reduction Initiative categories, and RPS has been shortlisted for both.

The category entries demonstrate our work to identify reuse options for pallets that currently are disposed of in skips, including reusing bespoke pallets generated in construction, manufacturing and retail.

We are extremely proud to say we have helped save a national UK building merchants up to 75 per cent on disposal costs, by collecting used wooden pallets with a vehicle, compared to collecting them in skips. The latter option would mean the pallets are typically shredded for biomass or recycled rather than being reused for its original intended use.

We believe our innovative approach of rethinking pallet management is fundamental at stopping used pallets being scrapped unnecessarily. Many pallets are deemed waste, despite them being suitable for reuse, and we are leading the way by changing this perception within our industry.

The NRAs will bring together over 650 recycling and waste management professionals on Thursday, June 28 at the London Hilton on Park Lane and will include a day time programme, where colleagues can watch presentations from key speakers in the recycling and waste industry.

The RPS team is looking forward to attending the award ceremony and we are hoping to bring a winning trophy back with us to Teesside.
