The introduction of the WM2 legislation, relating to the management of hazardous packaging waste, caused a stir earlier this year when representatives in the packaging and hazardous products industries believed that the consultation period did not give adequate notice to review the contents.

During April revisions to the legislation were put in place to make it more practical and accessible with clearer guidelines on the classification of hazardous packaging waste and how to correctly consign movements.

As a result of this RPS has rescheduled its WM2 waste management seminar to take place on Wednesday 30th July. It is a morning event and free of charge to attend. In conjunction with NEPIC the seminar will take place at The Wilton Centre near Redcar and will allow business representatives to listen to industry experts on the legislation changes.

There is still time to book yourself on to the event. For full details please click here to visit the Event page. If you are unavailable then perhaps one of your colleagues could attend. It will be a relaxed event to ease people into the legislation changes and hopefully eliminate any questions about the recent amendments.

If you have any further queries please get in touch with RPS and we’ll be happy to help, alternatively you could read our article on the legislation and download our guidance pack by clicking here.
