We’ve been working with German-based dy-pack, one of the leading manufacturers of paper sacks for the chemical industry, for over 10 years now.

The dy-pack team came to us with goals – they wanted to improve their already commendable customer service and encourage an ethos of sustainability. After really getting to know their business and understanding their needs, it was apparent what we needed to do.

We devised a bespoke packaging plan focused around dy-pack’s customers. In order for dy-pack to provide top notch service (that we all know we want to receive), each and every piece of packaging that the paper sacks were delivered in to customers, had to be collected.

It’s fair to say we’d all be annoyed if we were left with stacks of packaging and nothing to do with it – surely it’s up to the supplier to manage this… and good on dy-pack for recognising this.

So, we…

  • Formally introduced ourselves to dy-pack’s customers as the packaging collection agent.
  • Collected nuisance packaging from all of dy-pack’s customers, including used pallets, cores and top frames.
  • Sorted, inspected and repaired (where necessary) each piece of packaging before returning to dy-pack in Germany.
  • Supplied recovery performance reports to dy-pack in order for them to focus on the day-to-day running of their business.
This resulted in…
  • An annual collection and return of over 6,000 packaging items to Germany.
  • dy-pack’s customers receiving (and continuing to receive) waste collection free of charge.
  • Wood waste packaging compliance obligation down by 150te per year.
  • Reduced packaging costs.
  • Reduced carbon footprint.
  • And, of course, we helped dy-pack provide top notch customer service!
