With both girls and boys teams, the club has found success in the local area and over its lifetime has helped over 60 players realise their dreams in professional football, including Stewart Downing, Lee Cattermole, Matty Bates and Jonathan Woodgate to name just a few.

With fantastic successes, the club has been able to grow and provide football training to youngsters in the area for over three decades. Support from volunteer coaches and backing from Middlesbrough Borough Councils ensures the future is optimistic for the club.

Where possible, fundraising and donations from the local community and businesses safeguard the continued prosperity of the club. Recently, RPS was approached to donate some strong pallets to act as a stage for their annual presentation. The stage has been built and is ready to welcome this season’s best players for the presentation.

Club founder, Keith Sykes, thanked RPS for the pallet donation: “Donations such as these, help a junior club like Marton FC to keep the costs down, . . . saving the club precious little money we have to spend on much more needed equipment for the youngsters.”

It’s commendable that all efforts are concentrated on developing the players and a testament to Keith and his colleagues for maintain the successful club.
