Pallet Collection FAQs

Here at RPS, above everything else we take the hassle out of pallets. Used pallets are waste and must be handled according to UK waste legislation. This can sometimes take a lot of time and effort and that is where RPS comes in. We can handle the entire collection process for you, fully compliant with the correct waste transfer paperwork and licences. To make things simple, below are some of the questions we are most often asked about our pallet collection service.

Where do you collect pallets from?

RPS collects pallets from all over the country and we can even collect from Europe. You can arrange collections from one UK location or multiple sites with one point of contact. If you have more than 100 pallets and you’re a business, RPS can collect your used or unwanted pallets nationwide with full duty of care. All we ask is that the pallets are safely stacked and you have a forklift truck on site to load our vehicle.

Can my pallets be collected for free?

We provide three main types of pallet collections. Some may be chargeable but some pallet collections are free. We collect any type of wooden pallet and below are the collection options available:

  • Scrap pallet collection – these are the chargeable ones. With a national average cost of £350 per skip collection, RPS can arrange a cheaper option by collecting using a vehicle. Starting from £95 per collection (subject to location), we can collect more pallets in one trip on a vehicle compared to collecting using a skip. The pallets will be shredded using our state-of-the-art shredding machinery and sent for recycling or energy recovery.
  • Free of charge pallet collection – exactly as it sounds, a free pallet collection. For mixed loads of pallets, some will have residual value and RPS can arrange to collect them free of charge. Good pallets will be reused and any scrap pallets will be shredded and sent for recycling or energy recovery.
  • Rebate pallet collection – this is where you can make some money. Many pallets have value and RPS can pay competitive rebates for national collections.

How long does a pallet collection it take?

Some pallet collection services take weeks to collect – that is definitely not the case with RPS. Pallets are bulky and it makes sense to clear them from your site quickly. That’s exactly what RPS does. Our average collection time is within seven working days. Don’t let pallets become a headache – RPS is here to take the hassle away.

Can I get money for my used pallets?

As mentioned above, some pallets have value and money can be paid for them. It just depends on the pallet types and quantities – our Pallet Specification page shows the pallets that RPS can pay competitive rebates for. For further details, get in touch and we can discuss the rebate options with you.
