In a recent article by Business Green, it has been reported that the number of companies with the ISO 14001 environmental accreditation has almost quadrupled since 2008. This shows a clear increase in the number of companies who understand and implement the necessary actions to reduce their environmental impact and comply to their environmental and social responsibilities.

With over 250,000 organisations certified across 155 countries, RPS being one of these companies, the ISO 14001 standard has been proclaimed as the world’s most successful environmental standard. The International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) is currently revising the standard with an expected inauguration due in 2015.

RPS gained their ISO 14001 accreditation in August 2011, and has helped to reduce the company’s impact on the environment in a number of ways, including reducing waste to landfill, introducing recycling of all waste paper, reducing the amount of paper cups used by introducing a “Cup for Life” and continually reviewing electricity consumption to help reduce overall use by the company. All this along with the ethos of RPS helping businesses to reduce, reuse and recycle their packaging assets demonstrates RPSs commitment to reducing not only our own environmental impact, but helping to reduce the environmental impact of multinational businesses.
