As Big Ben chimed to herald in the New Year of 2020, little did we know what would lie before us.
As we now hurtle towards the end of what has been a very challenging year for many businesses and individuals, we decided to introduce a calendar of events in our communal areas to show our team and the RPS business everything they have achieved over the year.
Here are some snippets from the last 11 months:
January – the Eaglescliffe site was prepared for 5000te of concrete to be poured.
February – we created the North East construction collection rate map and the shredder installation was completed.
March – moving day! We set up in our new Pallet HQ, continuing to work hard through lockdown as key workers. We also became members of the Industrial Packaging Association (IPA).
April – the new site Waste Exemptions were registered. There were lots of ‘Eaglescliffe’ firsts too, including the first pallet collection arrived, the first delivery left site and the first full load of wood shred was loaded and sent for energy recovery.
May – our superb Customer Service Team was established.
June – we launched our free of charge construction site pallet collection promotion and also opened up the RPS Pallet Gate service.
July – we installed racking in the warehouse to help keep us organised and utilise maximum floor space. The last delivery of pallets left the Maltby site. We also completed the interior design of our new meeting room and reception.
August – we said a sad but fond farewell to Ronnie Ramsey after 18 years’ service with RPS. The Guiseley Way FIBC workshop became fully operational and we welcomed Liam and Hemen to the team.
September – we took delivery of new, electric forklift trucks to replace two older, diesel models. We also had some more new starters; Keith, Eve and Alex.
October – we said, ‘that’s a wrap!’ on filming for our new promotional videos (we’re film stars now). We welcomed the Tees Valley Mayor Ben Houchen to site for a visit. We launched our updated website and it was a month of training as selected operatives received banksman and telehandler training.
November – it was another month of training as selected operatives received first aid and FLT training. We also introduced our digital scanning thermometer as a way to control COVID safety measures for our staff, contractors and visitors.
December – stay tuned…..
