To ensure that RPS reduce, and ultimately remove, their general waste to landfill we are aiming to have zero to landfill status by the end of Q1-2012. There is already a great deal of waste that RPS recycles, for example all scrap wooden pallets and timber is chipped and turned into fuel briquettes. Also, all paper, cardboard and recyclable plastics are sent for recycling. The amount of general waste generated over the last year has reduced due to these changes in waste allocation and it is now our aim to turn the remaining general waste back into energy.
